I measured my refrigerator and if those kegs are 8 1/2" around I should be able to easily get four kegs in there. I might be able to get six, but it would be tight. I take it you use a distributor to get CO2 to all the kegs at once?

The Mrs thinks I'm crazy. I haven't even brewed a batch yet. You guys are infectious with all that you know and share. I feel a lot smarter about this than I did a week ago and I'm bursting with confidence for my first brew. The bottling part has me a little worried. I'll get through it.

yeah you can buy a distribution setup for your co2 setup..... start with a double regulator then work your way up to the big leagues.

cheap cleaning, cheap corny's

Tue Oct 31, 2006 12:19 pm

I purchased all 6 of my corny kegs from ebay, paid between 10.00 and 12.00 dollars each including shipping all arrived in working order. For bottle cleaning and label removal use TSP powder, it is used to clean grease and prep walls prior to painting. You can get it a most paint stores and LOWES; Home Depot doesn’t carry it to hard on the environment. Be wary of substitutes like jasper brand it says TSP big letters and substitutes in really small letters on label. Do not poor TSP down the drain if you on a septic it will kill all the poo eating bacteria ultimately leaving you in a real shitty mess

While I have never used TSP, I hear it is pretty harsh. There are some more enviro-friendly/safe products available that work pretty well. Just depends on how carefull you want to be...I have little ones around so I use something a little less toxic-although I imagine it probably doesn't work as well.

A soak in water and ammonia overnight works well. Most labels will just slide off or even floating around.

TSP like most chems can be harsh my brew sink drains into a buried 55 gallon drum filled with gravel the grass planted over it is same color as the rest of the yard so I take that as an indicator all is well but in the long run if you compare my yards soil to Hanford I think the greenies will forgive me. :)
