Brew Magic or Sculpture

Thu Apr 20, 2006 12:38 pm

Blame it on the BN, but all this brewing talk has got me obsessed with getting a new system. I know most all of the host are using B3 sculptures, but on the east coast shipping a sculpture is a big ticket issue. With that said, I think both Brew Magic and B3 sculptures will make great beer, but I am looking for feedback particullary on the Brew Magic? Has anyone used a Brew Magic and have you compared systems. I am not looking to brew batches beyond 10 gallons, so the obvious advatage of B3 Sculptures is accepted at the large batch size.

Brew Magic users, does the system live up to your expectations? How automated is the sytem?

My wife is finally at the breaking point, and I think with some more needling and compusive talking about brewing, she may just give me the green light by fathers day.

There's a pretty extensive discussion on Sabco vs. B3 here:

It IS B3's forum, but on the whole, the discussion is pretty balanced.

ooooooohhh, touchy touchy....i was referring to the fact that the 2100 isn't a tri-level sculpture (like the 2050).....not 20 gallons vs. 10...... 8)

Scuptures you say? Mine is the bomb. I just hope the local dairy doesn't find out I've got their milkcrates... anyway they stack like legos, and thus are re-configurable as your brewery grows. No welding nessecary, wire coat hangers are a dime a dozen. Plus it's asthetically appealing; the blue plastic matches the gray duct tape nicely. Nor is it a 3 tiered system. Only the first couple batches got rust in them from the pump (Pa said the water pump off the ole '74 pacer wouldn't werk, I showed him). The electronic control system is a great after I got all bugs worked out. The doctor said I should heal completely in a year or two...

Anyway, no need to spend so much money an a high faluting, setup when you can just apply a bit of Tennessee know how.
