I have the adjustable, two roller crankandstein and its is great. I motorized it with a 1/3hp capacitor start motor I got off ebay and reduced the rpm using belts and pulleys. The two roller works great if you want a more fine grind, which works good for my batch sparges.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried B3's Grain Gobbler and how they like it. I am going to order a grain mill this week and was thinking of this one, but now after reading the posts, I'm thinking of a Crankandstein.

I have never used the grain gobbler, but a few friends have various crankandsteins, and they have been very happy with them. I used my friends 2 roller crankandstein at NHBD and loved it. A couple of other brewers in my club have a crankandstein 3 roller version, I haven't used it, but they swear by it.

I have the Barley Crusher, works great. Adjustable rollers on both sides and a 15 pound grain hopper (optional). Fits snugly on a 5 gallon bucket and has a hand crank or you can crank with a 3/8 drill. I got mine for $150.50 including shipping with the 15 pound grain hopper.
ENJOY YER BEER and let them that don't want none have memories of not havin' any!

I went with the crankandstein 3 roller detent adjustable mill. Not to bash B3 but I had a grain gobbler 2 in my hands when I received the C&S, not nearly the same quality, I'm sure its a great mill, but the C&S mills just look like they are built to last. The thing works great, I get 80-85% on beers under 1.083, I have one over at 1.103 got 65% effiency. The detent style adjuster on my mill is also a big plus for ease of adjustment.

Thanks for all the input from everyone. Looks like the C&S is a crowd favorite but I will check into the others that were mentioned. Thanks again.

I've had good luck with my MaltMill. I would buy a "naked" one next time. I'm just about to motorize it. That should be fun! Tom
