I use glass & plastic. I'd like to have one of those $2500 externally cooled SS conicals from B3.

I used plastic for my first batch and then got some glass carboys, have never gon back to the plastic. Have plenty of cornies and never fermented in them. Not to hijack the thread but how does one rack off the yeast cake in a corny, did you cut the dip tube or just syphon.

I use a plastic 40gal conical. Works great. Primary/secondary in 10 days. Drop temp to 35 degrees and keg in 3 more days. I use iodiphor to sanitize and disassemble all parts when cleaning. I have never had a problem. Plus if you get a bit of discoloring from the iodiphor- not to worry.

Stainless only for me. Either my Sabco fermenter or 10-gallon cornies. 8)

I use 5 gallon corny kegs for primary and secondary. I love'em! Tom

I use plastic buckets for everything, but have been using a 2-3week primary then over to the corny.

Sometimes I try to suck up a bit of primary yeast and get it in the keg,
after conditioning and carbonation, the yeast comes out in the first pint... it's nasty.. I tap the kegs with one big plastic cup and one glass.

and I love the autosiphon, It's been fun brewing with a brewpub brewer (getting him in to homebrewing again after 6 years pro) and seeing him start siphons with a tube and some sanitizer.. then i just whip out the A-S and 1 pump, done.
