And give it a swirly with a sanitized spoon and it will chill even faster. The pump is best, but even a spoon will make a huge difference.
I hope my post helped in some way. If not, please feel free to contact me.

The spoon was my solution to the wort-chilling thing. It seemed to work pretty well. When you are just starting and experimenting with newtechniques, it gets a little confusing because you can be afraid of screwing something up. How vy-gore-osly would you recommend i stir the pot?

Pope,

Are you suggesting to whirlpool with the spoon right at the end of the boil or to keep whirlpooling the whole time the chiller is running?

I stir

Hey,
Per my previous post, I stir to whirlpool, it greatly reduces cooling time.

- I sanitize my spoon before use
- Kill the fire, and move the pot off the cook surface
- kick on the water to the IC
- stir at a medium pace caring not to create bubbles

taadaa!
