take a really thin blade like a chizel or thin flat screw driver and carfully tap i under the magnet it willpop off it is glued on that is aluminum it sets on

Ok those of you with homemade stirplates, what size fan did you use? I tried a 4" but my power supply wouldn't even budge it (7 volt) I have a new standard sixe 180mm case fan, but this seems too small. Will the smaller fan work?

Ok, I've got my hard drive magnet. What's the best way to affix it to the fan so that it isn't too off balance? What would you use to affix it? I'm going to try epoxy. I've left mine on the metal backing because it looks like it would be too powerful without the metal backing. Without the backing between the magnet and the motor, the motor wouldn't spin.
