Nice set-up George.
I especially like the DIY Thrumeter.
What copper fittings did you use to add QD's to your chiller?
I have a B3 CFC that I would like to do the same thing too. However, with the 3/4 copper fittings I bought at Lowe's the QD's just won't thread on far enough.

Thanks, Rob. The LCD thermo is brand new; I've only brewed with it once, and I love it. As for the QD's my site has the specifics on which ones I use, including part numbers from McMaster-Carr. The CFC, I just soldered on 1/2" NPT female copper fittings. The soldering job is a bit sloppy because the fittings are a little too big, but it is watertight. You were talking about the wort side, right? The chill-water side is just hose QD's from Ace. My chiller came pre-made with 3/4" hose fittings on the water side. (Not sure where it came from originally, since I bought it used.)

I bought some 3/4 copper fittings to solder on but when I tried to screw on the QD's they would only go on a turn or two. Not enough I thought to hold and not leak. Maybe I'll try 1/2 NPT and see how that goes. Mine came with the water side fittings already soldered on as well.
You have great info on your site, especially, going with an electric heating set-up. I'll have to wait on that as I'm one of those guys you wrote the warning for. ;)

They probably weren't the same kind of threads. Hose fittings are entirely different from the 3/4" NPT that are commonly available at the home stores for soldering. Talk to one of the associates and they should be able to direct you to a 3/4" hose to 3/4" NPT coupler.

Thanks again for the kind words. Electric brewing is the best thing I've done, but you do have to know what you're doing to build the stuff.

Okay, here's mine. many of the pictures are old and don't show the current Mini-Brew mash tun or full shots of the system with all of it's piping. Maybe I'll make use of the Xmas break to update them.

Just posted some pics on my web site of my ghetto all grain system. Makes great beer though.
