I'm up here on campus with a bunch of wood about to start on my version of this. I've had a few false starts, and had to go back to the drawing board when my girlfriend rejected my idea of making the whole thing look like a TARDIS. I'm getting the base of the box built today, and once my tax return comes in I should be able to buy the co2 regulator, beer lines, and electronics.

Awe what a stick in the mud. This is what I did to our kegerator for my wife's birthday party.

It's...it's so beautiful. It's like a miniature version of what might have been for me. She's having a hard time understanding my Doctor Who fascination, maybe she'll come around one day.

A temporary control panel. I got the RIMS working a little better & in the process of converting the HLT to electric. I've got a main power switch, 2 temp controllers, separate switches to supply power to the controllers & the controller output (to be able to read the display without firing the elements or changing the setpoint), pump control & I'm still working on a couple lights for the controllers. I'm using JCI's right now which will get moved to the 2 fridges in the garage & replaced with PID's for the final build. The biggest downside is the lack of backlighting/illuminated segments.

Nothing, and it's bugging the shit out of me. The weather needs to start cooperating so I can work on the kegerator.

Working on converting a shipping container from a brewery into a fermentation chamber, wheels are on, most of the surface rust has been removed and primed.

Next is to clean and prime the inside, then get the insulation to line the bitch out in. Oh, and add some shelf supports, and some shelves.

Also have a lot of additional angle iron, so thinking about expanding it......as of now, it is 40x40x80, and now that my Brewhemoth has arrived, I can get the measurements, and make final adjustments.

Going to run a 15kbtu ac unit for cooling, with a couple fans to help move the air around.

Actually yes, it will have an 'alarm clock', just not built into the control panel. It's an idea I was toying with for the final build before I got distracted. I figured out how to install my old car stereo in the final build, which led to a lot of thought about room for a small subwoofer. Yes, seriously. Right now I think I'm just going to stick with a pair of decent 6x9's which should be more than enough. Depending on how things go, I'm hoping to start on that stand by late summer/fall.

I'm using some scrap wood to modify my current stand, since I don't want to put too much more money into it - although it has a damn good retirement plan as shelving. For my control panel I put in a horizontal 1x4 as a mounting bar for the temp control & used some scrap oak plywood to make the face. Since the stand is pretty beat up (Yeah, I beat the hell out of my wood for the past 4 or 5 years) & the faceplace is semi-decent looking scrap, I took the smallest size Dremel drum sander to the inside giving the holes a more rustic look. It's actually a technique I was thinking about using on the final build, so it was a great excuse to try it out. I need more practice & a plan of attack before starting, but all in all, I like it.

I also took out the HLT burner & built a tabletop for the new electric HLT. Staying with the slightly beat up/rustic look, I hand-planed the top just a touch to even it up & sanded it to 100 grit. I got the faceplate stained to blend in with the rest of the stand & the tabletop is going to get done today. I just need to get the other 4 control switches & a main power switch to finish up the stand for electric - the rest of the parts to convert the HLT should be here by Monday. I'll get some pics uploaded sometime relatively soon.
