Curly Hosing

Sat Dec 16, 2006 7:22 pm

Not that Hosing. I want to know if anybody has a way to help straighten the plastic tubing we all use. Mine must have been from the end of the spool because it has a nasty curl to it and I can't seem to get rid of it. Thanks for any help.

I want to know too. That stuff has a nasty memory. I've tried heating it up and weighting it down while it cools, but that doesn't seem to help either.

I've tried putting it out in the sun for a few hours with no luck. Now I just try to use the curl as if I wanted it there. That stuff held the curl in a scrap piece of hose that I had for 12 years. :?

What has worked best for me is I wash it in super HOT water and hang it over the top of the door, sometimes if it is really bad I will clip a weight to both sides but sometimes that creates a kink in the middle which is no better than the twisted tubing.

Every once in a while I'll take my curly tubing and wrap it opposite of the natural curl around a corney. Then I put a piece of tape of it and leave it overnight. It will take the curl out for a few brew sessions, but it will eventually go back to it's natural state.
