yeah, need to get it out of the house and put it in there.

thanks for the good words guys,

I sent my water in, ( well water ) because the 20 gal that I brewed just isnt right. and in the bottom of my HLT I must have scooped out a couple of cups of calcium or bicarbonates...... we will see... guess i should have made a stout...
on tap : High Bicarbonate Chicken soup flavored English Ale
In fermenter : most likely high bicarbonate chicken flavored ESB

Next up, RO system!!!!

What kind of place do you think he's running anyway?
A good carbon filter should help a lot with temporary hardness. Not eliminate it, but remove a bunch. You could also preboil all your brewing water and siphon it off the sediment, but that seems like an awful waste of propane to me. Or er, um, electricity in your case I guess.
Don't you get caramelization on your elements?
