Think of it this way. You're all jazzed to brew a clone of something. You go to the site and download the CYBI episode. Listen to the thing. And then find out it is a miss 50% of the time. Dang, can't these guys clone these things? We'd have to change the name to Can You Maybe Brew It? :(

So I was freaked out about not hitting 80%. It turned out that we had a lot of early success, but I see some misses in our future as we go for some of the tougher clones. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up at 80% over the long haul.

Of course, we'll keep working on every beer until we clone it. We're not just going to say we can't. We'll freakin do it! :jnj

try cloning some beers from Heretic Brewing, I hear that guy is a major dick!

I hear he doesn't give out recipes.

There was not a consensus, but it was very close. They did Fuller's and AB back to back live, and then split it for archive purposes. Next Jamil show thats published will be AB. This is why you wanna catch live broadcasts of Jamil show so you hear it early!

And for future reference, the site is www.justin.tv/brewingnetwork

And yes, the consensus was it was cloned, but they wanted to try and get an unpasteurized example to compare it to. They also said, they were gonna be doing a side by side at NHC, and let the BN'ers decide whether they cloned it or not.

Mitch said they use a proprietary yeast, which they get from White Labs. The guys said they used WLP007, or you could also use 1098 from Wyeast. Mitch also said they ferment at 72F, the guys did 67F first, and said it needed bumped up to 69F. (Note: All these notes were from the original show).

I think Safale 04 would be the better choice if you have to go with dry yeast.
