I have an idea for a really F-ed up Sour

Tue Sep 25, 2012 12:26 pm

Hey guys!

I was thinking of doing my own spin on a Berliner Weisse-like beer with Rye and Marris Otter as my base as opposed to Wheat.

I was thinking about Mash Hopping with: Chinook, Colombus, Summit, or Citra.

I would like to divide my batch into 2 5 gal carboys. One I will ferment with WLP650 and the other with WLP653. I plan on blending the two batches at the end of fermentation to my desired taste.

If you guys have any comments, critisisms... let me know. I greatly appreciate it!

Thanks and Happy Brewing!

Starting to sound less and less like a berliner, but homebrewing exists for experimenting!

It was inspired by a Berliner Weisse that is brewed in the Philadelphia Area. I know that this is not going to be brewed to any real style.

Any other hops other than the mash hops?

Interesting... keep us updated, please. Provided you keep the hops minimal, this sounds like it could be a pretty good... er... f-ed up sour. :D All bottles for analysis should be sent as soon as it's ready. PM me for my address :D
