Mr. Malty's Pitching Rate Calculator™ and Safale

Wed Jul 09, 2008 12:09 pm

When using Mr. Malty's Pitching Rate Calculatorâ„¢ (if that is his real name), it asks for the 'born on' date for dry yeast. I believe Safale, which is what I use most of the time, has only a 'best before' date. Does anyone know how I can work backwards to figure out the born-on date for this yeast?

Geez, never mind. I just read that the born on date is one year prior to the expiration date. Sorry to have wasted everyone's time.
