Yeast nutrient after brew day

Has anyone ever added nutrient to a beer after brew day. I brewed yesterday and split a batch into 5.5 and 3.5 gal batches. I split the same yeast started between the 2. The larger batch had a pound of light candi syrup added to it. It has taken off and the other hasn't. Would a bit of nutrient help the smaller batch to get going or would that be a bad idea.
Thanks for any help.

No problem. In fact some recommend doing so for high gravity beers.

Just boil it in a small amount of water for a few minutes to sanitize, cool, than add.

By the way, its a belgian IPA, small batch to be blended with white wine, and the stronger 1.077 OG portion to be kegged, dry hopeed and enjoyed fresh. Can't wait.
