Cold Crashing and reusing yeast

Hey all I have a berliner in the fermenter, using 001 for actual fermentation and now I realize my 2nd keg is also almost empty. Was planning on crashing the Berliner and racking the next beer on to that yeast cake but worried that the cold might make them too sleepy. Should I rack to a secondary them cold crash and be able to pitch on a yeast cake that hasn't been cold or will I be fine crashing then pitching? Will the yeast be in bad shape from being in the sour wort?

Next beer is an APA like 1.055ish. Berliner was 1.038 before the sour mash.

Did you boil the wort after sour mashing to stop the lacto? the yeast might be a bit weak from working in a low pH environment depending on how low the sour mash dropped it. A 1.055 OG is not a huge beer though for a repitch. If you do use the cake, I would not repitch onto the whole cake as that would be overpitching by a large amount. A cup or so of yeast transferred into your pale ale would be more than sufficient.

Yes, you can cold crash the beer and reuse the yeast. Just be sure to let it warm up close to the actual temp of the beer you are pitching into.
