Aquarium pump foamovers

Fri Jul 09, 2010 3:53 am

I finally stepped up from the "shake and pray" method of oxygenating to a Northern Brewer aquarium pump setup. I've used it three times so far, and each time my wort was foaming like crazy within 10 minutes. Is there anything I can do besides plunging my tube in and out of the wet hole?

It has happened whether I use a carboy or a bucket. Would a foam control addition help something like that?

Thanks.

Foam Control is the way to go. I don't aerate with out it!

I just stir gently (with a sanitized spoon) every few minutes, to break up the foam.
Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.
