Yeast Starter - Brew Day Delay

OK....easy question.

I was planning to brew tomorrow. Now I am not, but I have got 2 yeast starters kicked off already. Any problem with letting them run 3-days then chilling them down until brew day? I figure decant off old "beer" on brew day and re-mix with 1L of fresh wort.

Thanks.....

Timmy

That's what I figured....thnx Sheen. I figured the night before I brew, pull the starters from the fridge, and decant in the morning when I start brewing and give each slurry a fresh 1/2L - 1 L of wort to wake them up.

You probably don't even need to add any fresh wort to them unless they have been sitting in the fridge for more than 3-4 days. In fact, if it has only been 24-48 hours of chilling, then I wouldn't add any fresh wort simply becuase they don't need it.

Cool. The starters should be done tonight/tomorrow I think and then I am brewing Saturday. I have one on a stir plate and one with a pump and aeration stone.

All times are UTC - 8 hours
