Just curious is anyone builds their starter at Lager temp's or just do it at room temperatures?

I try to do all my starters at 70F. For most starters, and especially lagers, I'll chill the starter once complete, decant, and cold pitch.

I just did my first lager starter at 65°. normally, I've been fermenting them at 50° for 4 days before decanting and pitching. However...they have been taking too long to start the fermentation, but did not have issues with attenuation that cold.

+1. Remember that with starters you aren't making beer - you're making yeast. Lager yeast are quite active and healthy at room temp. They will reproduce quite nicely. No reason to slow it down by doing it at lager temps. Just be sure to decant the fermented wort, cause that shit is nasty.
