I've been making my starters a good 4 days in advance of my brew day and letting the starters go at 50°. Should I be building my yeast at higher temps? I guess I just didn't want to introduce any diacetyl into my beers at pitching.

I think I recall Doc or Jamil saying that it doesn't matter, as long as your starter is aerobic - and if it really concerns you, you can always chill and decant.

Agree...I remember Jamil saying that you don't need to hasve your starter at the same temperature as your lager fermetation although it does not hurt.
