Just racked and dryhopping a lighter beer (1.040 SG) after sitting in the primary carboy at 68F for 7 weeks. Will I get some dead yeasty taste?

You tell us. I've let beers go that long in primary with no problem, but I suspect it may vary by beer style and yeast.

I've not had anything go that long in primary, but the gravity is pretty low and the temperature isn't outrageous. I'd be interested to see if you do, look for yeasty/brothy flavors, or if more extreme meaty or rubbery.

i really think that people worry about that way too much. I have done a low gravity mead (about 7%) that i used wlp001 on and let it sit on the yeast cake for over 6 months and no dead yeast flavors.

Chances are, even if the yeast were in perfect shape to start, some of the yeast died during that time. If the pitching rates were right and the yeast were in good shape it probably wasn't enough to have much flavor impact if any. My guess is it tastes fine.

I don't have enough tasting experience to identify autolysis, but have brewed this recipe several times. Don't really know what too look for so this gives me an idea.
