WLP099 Super High Gravity Ale Yeast

Herro,

I brewed a Russian Imperial Stout 4 weeks ago and pitched a healthy starter of WLP099 Super High Gravity Ale Yeast.
The O.G. was around 1.082.
4 weeks in the primary later, there is still activity coming out of the airlock.
I was thinking I would take a gravity reading today, but since it isn't done yet I decided to wait.
Does anyone have experience with this yeast?
I would like to transfer the beer to secondary to free up the bucket for something else, but I don't want to rush it.
How long could it go on?

You can check the gravity with no problems.

Yes but if it is not done yet wouldn't it be unnecessary?

I had to know.
It's 1.020 right now and it tastes delicious!
Still bubbling though so I think I'll let it sit for another week before racking to secondary.
Its 76% attenuated and the yeast can go as high as >80%.
Sound good?

74.3% AA so you are getting close. You could rouse up the yeast some, to get a bit more activity. Either GENTLY swirl the carboy or use a sanitized racking cane or sample theif to stir it up with. I would think you get get it down another point or 2. Then go to secondary when it is stable.

How did you do your math for the ATN?

I subtracted 82 - 20 = 62 / 82 = .756 = 76%

Did I do it wrong?

I used brewcalcs.com . Its a free site, I think one the posters either over here or at more beer's forum built that website
