I am looking for a good hardy ale yeast with more or less a "british" character that is suitable for top cropping. Any suggestions?

We have several of our customers that swear by the 1187 Ringwood strain. The 1318 London Ale III is a great top cropper as well.

Thanks a lot, I will consider them. What do you think about 1728 Scottish, 1028 London or 1098 British?

Of those three, #1-1728(Best), #2-1098(Good), #3-1028(fair). You could top crop any of these though, catching it at high krausen is going to be the key.
