Stepping up from a slant

I have read several different methods for this.

1. Slant => 10ml => 100ml => 1000ml

2. Slant => 250 ml => 500ml => 1000ml.

Does it really make a difference one way or the other?

Thanks,

Bob

I've heard 10x increases is best, so option #1.

To quote Denny from your question on More Beer

Denny wrote:If you start with just a loopful, go with #1. If you use the entire slant, #2 will be OK.

I usually do an entire slant so I go with #2
