CabTabs - How many to use in a 22 oz Bomber?

Mon Jul 21, 2008 7:14 am

Hey all, a quick question...

Need to bottle three bombers of American IPA, right out of the fermentor. Going to keg the rest, but wanted to try the CarbTabs (munton's I think).

Instructions aren't real clear there..... give general outlines for "Low" "Ordinary" and "High" Carbonation, but can't find any cross refernece to # of Volumes CO2 that Gives in a given amount of beer?

Anyone with any experience here? (I could always use sugar, or bottle the kegged stuff, but just wanted to experiment..

Any thoughts?

Thanks and Cheers to all...

The one time I used them I used four per 12 oz. and that seemed about right. I would just double it for a bomber.
Pri: Community Nudity Ale, Magician Red Ale, Berliner Weisse
Bottled: Paxton's Tripel and Dubbel, 400 Rabbits Ale, Cap'n Crunch Amber Oat Ale

Cool, Thanks.

I did one with 7, one with 8 and one with 9, so ill do a side by side and hope im not too drunk after 66 oz of IPA to decide which one was best!
