That's a great idea.

Right now, I have 2 pails, 1 glass carboy and 1 better bottle. I like the better bottle a lot, but cleaning can be a bit of a pain. If it's available, it's my go to fermenter. I love that it's lightweight, sturdy and I won't hurt it (or me) carrying it around.

I use oxyclean free to clean mine. Just fill it full of hot (not too hot) water and add a scoop of oxyclean free, let it soak overnight and its clean the next morning. Love the better bottles!

Over time, the plastic will get week and they will break

Yeah, mine broke like this and I have not replaced them. Its funny, I moved away from plastic buckets because the BN show on fermenters convinced me plastic would scratch and eventually infect my beer. I moved to glass carboys. My daughter was born and started crawling around, and I heard/saw to many broken carboy stories on the interwebs and moved to better bottles for safety. After cleaning better bottles (pet plastic) with pbw, rinse, and pbw solution with a rag inside for tough stains, I learned plastic can be cleaned without scrubbing. My better bottles broke due to cracking corners and now I am have come full circle back to plastic buckets, cleaning them like I did with better bottles.
