You're going about it all wrong. Add the flask to the DME.

I add my dme with a spoon. It doesn't spill a drop.

This doesn't solve your problem of wanting to eliminate your funnel, but it won't result in sticky DME funnel syndrome either.

I do something similar. I add my DME to the flask first, and then run hot tap water into my flask and swirl until dissolved... then I don't have to worry about mixing w/ heat, or dirtying anything but my flask (no spoon/bow, etc nec)

those markings on the side of an erylinmeyer flask are off by at least 20%! A graduated cylinder (which is far more accurate at measuring liquid volume) is off by at least 5%.

Instead try this. I like your idea of weighing the DME in the flask on your scale. To add 1L of water, add 1000g or 1Kg of water to your flask.

Palmer's good book says to use 100g DME to 1L water.

I've had some luck pre-boiling the water in an electric kettle, then adding it boiling to the flask with the DME already inside. Not sure if that adds unnecessary mineral deposits from the bottom of the kettle, but I haven't noticed anything. Then I put the flask on the fire.

Ah.. I like adding the water by weight here as well. Money suggestion...
And yes, I recall the good books 1/10 Ratio dme/h2o. That's the only easy ratio that I remember during the brew sessions
