Brewed a Flanders Red yesterday (came out a little high at 1.062) and pitched Roeselare. Let the adventure begin!
Me: I'm gonna drink a Boon Geuze.

Going on 14 mos for my Flanders w/o even a taste. Really starting to get antsy on these, but I will play the patient role and let them at least finish out the summer to gain some more work from the bacteria with all these warm temps we have been having.

Aaron and I are gonna brew another red with the yeast cake I saved. He's got a Jolly Pumpkin La Roja clone recipe from BYO. I'm also gonna see if i can get ahold of a rodenbach grand cru at premier tomorrow to pitch the dregs into my ned flanders red i have going already.

I hope this mother gets sour.

I think Rodenbach is filtered and force carbonated, so you probably won't get anything out of it.

Hello all! Was hoping to see this topic come up in the forum again. I'm planning my first Flanders Red the first week of August. Planning to do 12gal. and split the batch half straight, and half with sour cherries. The question I have is, I've read mention of both leaving the beer on primary, and racking off after a week or two. Is there a consensus as to which has worked out better?
Enjoying a Cantillon Kriek right now, Cheers! Kevin
On tap:
German Pils
American Wheat
CYBI Shakespeare clone

Fermenting:
