Maybe for Student grade but a Class A would be more like half a percent and Class B a percent (depending on the size of the cylinder). For a 1L cylinder, e.g. its 0.3% (3 mL) for Class A and 0.6% (6 mL) for Class B.

those markings on the side of an erylinmeyer flask are off by at least 20%! A graduated cylinder (which is far more accurate at measuring liquid volume) is off by at least 5%.

Instead try this. I like your idea of weighing the DME in the flask on your scale. To add 1L of water, add 1000g or 1Kg of water to your flask.

Palmer's good book says to use 100g DME to 1L water.
