well, your probably right, but there haven't been any large enough on craigslist and especially none for free... Plus, I really enjoy building the electronics and stuff.. That's why I did my own temp controller as well.. But thanks so much for your valuable contribution to the post..

More info on the controller plz. Arduino? I assume that's an LCD panel? What probe did you use? more!more!more!

I am in the IT field and I was thinking about doing something on a soekris platform running a light linux/bsd for temp controller/g33kpr0n.

Yes, this is an arduino platform.. Using the Dallas ds1820 temp sensor.. It provided the easiest way to attach to arduino, as they have a library for it already.. The LCD is just a cheap O' off eBay, I used the arduino library for that as well.. Took awhile to get LCD going but no too bad.. after all that just has to modify code to turn on two relays.. Turns on AC relay when above 70 and turns on heater relay when it's at 63.. I still need to play with the range once I get more accurate wort temps..
