T-58 Fermentis over Active in secondary

Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:12 pm

I just racked my Belgian Pale ale to the secondary after 9 days. O.G. 1.058 . Gravity at racking was 1.014. There is a good deal of foam on the top forming. The airlock bubbles about once every 2 minutes. Usually my beers are real calm in the secondary. Is this normal for this yeast? I don't think I have an infection. Haven't had a bad batch for 7 years. I have never tried this yeast before. May be I should let this one go a little longer than my usual two weeks in the secondary.

Belgians want to go really low, so 1.014 isn't really done yet.
Also, you might be seeing additional co2 come out of solution if the beer is warming up.
