Mr. Malty Yeast Calculator?

Sun Mar 01, 2009 7:32 pm

I am curious how other people use the yeast calculator or if I am doing it wrong, I grow from a slant and use a stir plate, and adjust the calculator as first, fermentation type, OG, volume , viability 90%, growth factor in the middle so vials or packs needed as 2, so far it seems to work.

I think you might need to use the yeast slurry function. If you are growing your yeast up from slants do you have a microscope and one of those things that lets you do cell counts? I don't think the calculator can take growing up yeast from a slant into account but if you grew it into a slurry you could figure out how much you needed.
