I've been brewing for about 2 1/2 years now, and have really stepped up my game in 2008... this year my wife may need to claim a few batches.
I first gained an interest in brewing when a friend of mine gave my wife and I a case of homebrewed Pale Ale as a wedding gift. He private labeled every bottle and called it "Holy Maltrimony." Ingredients were listed as Barley, Water, Hops, Yeast, Ball, Chain, etc. His beer was good, but I thought I could do better. When I entered my first comp last year, my only two entries both placed, 1st and 3rd in their flights!
I joined Crown of the Valley Homebrewing Sociey just under 2 years ago, and now have taken on the roll of Vice President. I still have alot to learn about brewing, but I'm very enthusiastic about it. After receiving an iPod for my B day last month, I have really come to appreciate the BN and what it has to offer. I am actually a Sirius subscriber, but since learning that there are so many brewing podcasts available out there I have installed an iPod jack in my truck, and I really only listen to Sirius for the kids channels when my daughter is with me.
Anyhow, I hope to learn a bunch here, and hopefully I can help out where I can too.
Cheers!
