New Brewer from IL

Hello to all!! I have been brewing since August 2006, so I suppose I am a bit of a noob.

I am currently on my 8th batch, the bourbon barrel porter kit from Northern Brewer. I have also done Oktoberfest (2, modified Papazian recipie), Christmas Ale (NB kit, hated it, but freinds and family loved it), a Ginger Honey Lager (my 3rd beer, 1st lager, going to see what the judges at NHC think of it), Dry Stout (NB kit), IPA, and an APA that I loved, and everyone else thought was too bitter, yeah I love hops!!!

Don't know how much knowledge I have to share yet, but I am willing to accept any offered.

Nice to meet y'all, and Happy Brewing!!!!

Going to the NHC with a beer already... I envy your courage. I just sent off my first competition beer last week. Keep us posted!

Welcome!

Don't tell Bub where you live! If you do, he is liable to show up on your doorstep and that will be the end of life as you know it. :eek

Seriously, welcome to the forum. Any time you need help, just ask. We will be glad to help.

He showed up on my door step. It was ok because he brought beer with.

I'm curious too. Where in Northern Illinois?

Thanks for the Welcome All!!

I am where Eddie's gas money gave out in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, good ol' Gurnee. Love those movies.

Any of yous guys close? I am guessing that is where the question originates.

I am currently doing extract and steeping in/partial mashing my specialty grains. I want to run a few more off before I get into AG. I just got a 15 gallon kettle from the wife as a gift though, so AG may me rearing its head very soon.

Close is a generalized term... Val and I are in Belvidere (Rockford).

It starts with being curious and ends with being like bub. Be very careful
