New guy from Bama

Tue Jan 01, 2013 7:47 am

Hey all!
Just got a kit for Xmas and found the site through a podcast. Haven't started brewing yet. Waiting for the LHBS to open back up from the holidays to get a few things to get going. Hope to learn a lot and make some tasty brews!

Welcome. Good luck next Monday and Roll Tide. Doesn't "who dat" belong in a rival state?

Thanks for the welcome. I don't say Roll Tide. I say War Eagle but, even more importantly, I say Go Irish!
And you are correct on the whodat being from a rival state. I'm originally from the Chicago area and the name here makes absolutely no sense, I know.

Welcome to the hobby! If you're in the B'ham area, Be sure and check out the Carboy Junkies and B'ham Brewmasters. Both excellent, active local clubs. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you an invite to the Junkies list.

That shop won't be selling homebrew supplies until the law changes. We're very optimistic this year. The sponsor of our bill the last 3 or 4 years, Mac McCutcheon, has been named chairman of the powerful House Rules Committee. We should have no problem getting a vote. I imagine state senators will also find it politically wise to support our bill too.
