New guy from Michigan

Fri Nov 09, 2012 11:36 am

Hello all, I am new here and to home brewing in general. A buddy of mine and I decided to jump into home brewing because we share similar taste in beer and think we can make some pretty good recipes of our own, eventually. Right now we are using extracts for now but could make the all grain jump eventually. We enjoy stouts, especially milk stouts, and oktoberfests, pumpkin ales etc. We are starting our first batch tomorrow with a pumpkin spice ale. So wish us luck. Thanks :bnarmy:

Dude, I wouldn't jump in...you could get seriously burned that way" A lot more wackiness just like this at The BN!!

Welcome. I also love milk stouts but haven't made one in a while. I guess I know what I'm doing next weekend!! The Portsmouth Brewery in NH has a Coffee Milk Stout on tap right now that I'm dying to try.

Welcome! Before you know it, you'll have more fermented beer than you'll have bottles/kegs... this is a good thing :)

Good luck with the brew, it seems to be a rather challenging style for a first brew IMHO. Welcome to the forums. Where in Michigan are you located? I grew up there, around Holland, Saugatuck & Grand Rapids.
