Hi.

My first batch was an all-grain batch, basically I tagged along with an experienced brewer, helping him out, and he gave me half of the 10 gallon batch. It's scheduled to be bottled next saturday.

Meanwhile I am going to be brewing extract/partial mash kits in the kitchen, until I'm ready to move up. My first two kits are an IPA and a sweet/milk stout.

I will be watching and reading this and other sites trying to learn all I can. I will be keeping track of my meager efforts on a small free blog, alcaponejunior.wordpress.com.

Cheers!

al

Welcome to the madness! I started brewing in 1996. I couldn't brew for 10 years for lack of space but I drank plenty of great beer and I read about brewing the whole time. I got back in starting in 2008 or so and I haven't looked back. There's nothing like drinking a commercial beer and knowing you can match or beat it.

10 years due to space restrictions? Ouch... Were you chained up in an S&M dungeon? I cram it into the little space we've got!

i'd love to have brewed those years . I quickly believed it couldn't be done and believe it far too long. It took an evening with my wife's cousin, a homebrewer, to realize I needed to brew and could.
