I am a new brewer, just brewed a total of 4 batches of beer so far.
Enjoy every minute.A little background... I am a research scientist (as the name indicated), doing cancer research. Lab work/sanitation/cleaning/temp control come as a scond nature to me. Too bad I spent too much time playing with mutant mice instead of yeast at grad school. Kind of regret that for now. I could've made better beer with some knowledge from yeast research...
A quick question for you guys (or Jamil?) While doing yeast rinse/washing, can we use StarSan/SaniClean in a short 30 sec contact time, then dilute quickly with sanitized clean water (5 volume)? I thought yeast should be able to withstand the quick 30 sec wash.
Keep up the good work!
