Hey y'all, new member here. I have a couple of questions:

1. I have a Mr. Beer kit that's been in my hot garage for 7 years, do you think it's alright?
2. I brewed a week ago and while krausen is very apparent and my gravity has dropped significantly, my airlock hasn't bubbled once. It's obviously not fermenting, so should I throw my beer away or re-pitch?
3. HOW DO I GET RID OF ALL THAT FOAM FROM STARSAN, WON'T IT MESS UP MY BEER???
4. I was supposed to mash at 152F, but it only got to 151.3F. I'm sure that it's going to be a flavorless mess, but will it still be drinkable?

Alright, now that that's out of the way, I'm glad to be part of the BN Army! I've been brewing for almost 2 years now and love it! I went from extract to all-grain pretty quickly, and now brew a mixture of both. Extract batches are just so darn easy. Looking forward to learning from all of your experiences to take my beer to the next level.

Cheers!
Travis

1. No.
2. If the gravity dropped significantly then it is fermenting.
3. Don't fear the foam.
4. It's fine. Drink it.

Welcome to the Madhouse! :jnj :nutters:

1. Should have dumped it 7 years ago
2. It's fermenting. Check your seals. The CO2 may be escaping somewhere else instead of the airlock. Don't trust bubbles...always take a gravity reading.
3. DON'T FEAR THE FOAM. ( but also don't be like Justin and leave it half full of Star San either )
4. .7 F off...I should be so lucky. Sounds like you are right where you want to be.

Welcome! Extracts may be easy but all grain gets easier the more you do it.

lol, I see what you did there...

1. Brew it up. And make sure you leave the lid off so you get local strains.
2. You should re-pitch and THEN throw the beer away.
3. Yep. It's poison. Should probably call in a hazmat team.
4. That's a terrible difference in temperature and you need to punish yourself by walkng naked through lava.

In the very off chance you were actually serious, my answers should not be taken seriously.

Welcome
