I lived there for like 10 years! Gonna be nice to visit again in 2014, if not sooner....

I've been thinking about going back for NHC. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Almost all of my small circle of friends lives within 20 minutes of Grand Rapids ... I grew up on the lakeshore, just south of Holland. Haven't been back to the city for a few years now. NHC sounds fun, but it also sounds like a crapload of people in a huge city that already has a crapload of people. Let's just say I live in Montana for some good reasons. Not dealing well with large groups of people is one of them. I figure I've got until just before tickets go on sale to make up my mind, when is that anyways?

Tickets go on sale the February ( usually early in the month ) before that year's conference. For this year in Philly, I think it's Feb 5th. As far as the crowds of people, at least you're with similar minded people. Theoretically, you never need to leave the conference hotel if you don't want to during the event.

Thanks. It'll probably take me that long anyways if I'm going to commit to it. I'd probably stay with a friend not only to save money, but to get away from the masses for a while. Regardless of which hotel they pick I have a few places to stay less than 10 minutes from any one of them.
