Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy

Ahoy hoy and greetings all

I'm a newbie to brewing, i've only done two batches and both were from kits. I plan to do a few more kits until I get a good grip on the process then move on up to using a recipe. My taste changes from month to month, the first batch I did was a Pale Ale, the second was a Hefeweizen and I think I've decided to do a Porter this next time.

Love the show and I look forward to wasting as much time at work on this forum as I can.

McMinnville representin' bitches!

Hey Matt welcome. As It turns out, this forum probably costs our employers millions in productivity collectively. Ah, the American dream...

Welcome Matt!

Kits are a great way to learn (except Mr. Beer.) I'm sure most of us started in the same place.

ha ha, I was wondering how long it would take you to surface with a reply...right at 34 minutes not bad. How's it going? Looking forward to Sundays brew session. I think I might be planting the seed for a local homebrewers club here in our little "po-dunk" down. Reminiscent of the WCCG circa 2000. Purhaps this could be WCHBC. Instead of "Sprekinz eh Geek" could be "Sprekinz eh Brew" or however it's spelled.

Now that most people that read this will be like ":? WTF?" I'll stop jabberin.

Beer is indeed prooof the God loves us and wants us to be happy!

Brew on my man, Brew on!

I will be making my 4th batch soon, and I will be doing an infusion mash with my home made "Zapap" mash/lauter tum. Read Charlie Papazian's "Joy of Homebrewing," for details.

A couple of food grade plastic buckets can be made into the above in an evening of drilling a few hunderd 1/8 holes in one of the buckets, and putting a spout one inch from the bottom of the other bucket. Works great, and the whole thing can be placed into a styrofoam box to hold the temp for the mash. Cheap and relatively easy is the forte of this system.
