I have noticed this too and can tell you that there is nothing wrong with the new server. I will be talking to J about this issue this week.

If it's any help, I've also noticed page loads on the forums are painfully slow and often hang or fail to load the entire page.

Unless something has changed in the past 6-8 hours, disregard my earlier comment above.
At home I am fine. It must be our shit Charter at work causing the slow page loads. $20 says it's all the jackwads such as myself streaming fine beach volleyball asses at their desk.

are the 503 issues still occurring? I've tried downloading my first podcast and was brought to the 503 page, and then told I was abusing the Brewing Network.

Also, the "can I download more" link says I can, in fact, still download more podcasts?

I've tried crawling the forums to see if there is any updated info, but everything seems to be from a while ago.

I find it hard to believe I'm the only person experiencing this issue.

Alec, I'm sorry you had any trouble at all but in looking at the data, no mistake was made, you got 15 shows in less than three minutes = you're done until the next day. Gotta let those wires cool off a bit.

I tried d/l on my phone, and they kept failing. I didn't know there was any issue with d/l limits BEFORE the fact that I ran down the list and clicked get all, click click click click click, then nothing actually completed.

/shrug.

It's working now. This will get me through the work day tomorrow!

I'm getting a 503 error on a show i'm trying to listen to today. I'm trying to get the Brew Strong going pro finance show. I also tried a couple of the other Brew Strong shows and got the same issue.

I haven't been on the site in weeks, so there's no way I hit any download limits. Any suggestions?

I ran into this problem for the first time today. I thought I'd point out that Google Reader tries to prefetch the audio files as you scroll through the list. So when I naively added Brew Strong to my feed list and scrolled back a couple of pages, I ran into 503s.

Looking back at network traffic, sure enough, Google tried to fetch every single mp3. And not just part of it, but the whole thing (HTTP header "Range: bytes=0-"). Kind of silly on Google's part I think.

My only gripe is that the download count limit applies immediately and for a while (a whole day?). Maybe a more flexible algorithm (token bucket / leaky bucket) is worth pursuing? I dunno, that's up to you all.

Of course, I totally understand why the limits are there, and I really appreciate all you guys do to keep my brain filled with beer podcasts, thanks a lot! Looks like I'll be hunting for a different podcast reader yet again.
