Guys.
I am intending to brew upcoming week-end. It will be my second batch ever, despite being surrounded by beer-guys all the time I am still very unexperienced and still have a huge lack of beer-knowledge...This is why I need YOU guys now.
What the hell should I be brewing to make sure, the outcome will be better than any of Justin's spill????
I usually like Lagers a lot, but can't do because of lagering issues. I like darker beers, malty flavours, not to hoppy...I like it a little girly like too...I will be brewing mini-mash!

Is anybody out there who is willing to help? Justin, do not even bother replying, I am looking for somebody who knows what he is doing... 8)

Help, please.... :?

Love, prost and Peace
Yours
DANIELA

What time/day are you thinking of brewing? If I don't have any thing with the kids, I'd be happy to help.

Are you looking for style suggestions? Nut Brown ale. Dunkleweizen. Scotch Ale. Do you like stouts and porters?

As far as making better beer than Justin. He's still doing water-bath cooling, right? Know anybody who'll lend you an immersion chiller? (Or you can spend $30 and make your own that he'll have to ask you to use ;) ) Make a starter the night before instead of the morning-of like J does. Maybe do an extract-late boil. Hell, if Jamil helps you you don't need my suggestions.

Edit: Why can't you lager again? What about a bock with the SF Lager strain or S-23 dry. Both do well enough in the low 60's. After fermenting, lager for 3 weeks in the keg, then have Doc filter it.

My suggestion is to find out when Jamil isn't busy and go brew on his system. That should crush Justin. Then go buy some shoes

Don't cry, Buddy. She'll probably let you drink it.

Daniela,
I suggest going with an Amber, Brown or Scotch ale. I was just in the Bay area this past weekend for my personal Pub crawl and order pick-up at B3 and would have been more than happy to help you. Unfortunately for me I have to resume my regular schedule of school and work and cannot offer my assistance this weekend. Good luck with whatever style you choose and have fun.

Cheers,
HH
