Wow ... I just read from FLR's comments to here. That's an hour I'm not going to get back.
The Brewing Network is absolutely my go to source for random brewing information and entertainment. The sunday session covers a wide variety of topics with some that I am very interested in and others that I am more indifferent on. Often times, the topic/guest is something that I'm not overly excited about, but after listening to the show I realize how wrong my initial impressions can be. Some of my favorite shows were ones I didn't think I would get much out of. I listened to the Session in order from show #1 to present. I absolutely love the variety of topics, good quality and mostly accurate brewing information, and multi-layered format of the Session. Even though I was in a time warp, it was great to perceptually grow with the BN as they have evolved over the last 8 years. The inclusion of the listeners into the show is comendable ... Every question that I send to the chat moderator gets asked, often word for word, and they are not always "comfortable" questions to ask.
Yes I hate Monday Sessions, but don't hold them agains the BN crew. I just enjoy participating in the live show and can't do that on Mondays ... my problem, not the BN's. Yes there are times when a show comes accross as "rushed" ... leaving listeners to make all sorts of unfavorable interpretations of the reasons (disinterest, boredom, would rather head across the street and drink a beer, etc). It could just as easily be a very justifiable reason (having network issues that had to be fixed in order for a show to even happen leaving little to no time for show preparation, poor interviewees making for a difficult interview, guests backing out last minute and scrambling to have show, etc). On the same note, there are many shows where the BN crew is absolutely engaged, having a lot of fun, providing us with a ton of information and entertainment, and staying on air well longer than normal. I think a lot of bitching stems from the fact that we truely enjoy the BN shows and it is hard not to be a bit dissappointed when there is no live show.
Yes I provide monthly donations to the BN, use the Amazon link, shop at the BN store or booth at events, and patronize BN sponsors. Doc, Tasty, JP, Justin, Moscow, Nathan & Nicole, Beevo, and Susi I truely appreciate all that you have accomplished through the creation/growth of the Brewing Network. If you are ever in the Prescott area, first round is on me!!
