We are interested in the process of brewing, the thoughts behind recipe formulation and trials. Most of us will never become professional brewers and don't give a fuck about those specifics like marketing. This isn't a business show, it's a brewing show. This isn't about the 80% that it takes to run a successful business it's about the 20% about the product.

Adam, I don't think you should speak for the entire BN listening audience (or attemt to for even most of them), I don't think anyone on here should speak for what the rest of the people listening want. I personally like the session as it is, the session is not the podcast that I look to for homebrewing centric nerdness. I listen too it for its entertainment value, to hear interviews about new beers, to catch a little inside information from pro's and actually mostly for the asshatery that goes on.

If I want beer nerd information I will listen to Brewstrong or the Jamil Show.

But this is only my opinion on the the show structure and what I enjoy about it.

It really is amazing how people can whine so damn hard about something they receive for free!!! I hear you all whine, but I never see any of you step up and offer to do anything to help these people who bring you free content, free interviews from professionals, discounts from suppliers, information on how to brew better beer make the show and their lives easier. Everyone should feel free to contribute ideas for content. But, to jump on the site and slam these guys for not meeting everyone of your personal little expectations is wrong.

Justin, JP, Tasty, Moscow, DOC, Bevo, and everyone else who steps up 3 weeks out of every month for year after year to give your time away for free to us, I personally would like to say thank you to you all. You fill my drives to work and my days at work with laughter, knowledge, entertainment and joy. I wish each of you the best of luck with the challenges you have taken on and the successes you deserve for your sacrfice to what appears to be many unappreciative douches.

For all you asshats, who are being wankers in the historic words of the great JP, "SUCK A DICK".

And I'm sure everyone publicly lists everything they've done to support the BN for all to see. Need to know basis.

Another fucking shitty IPA in the market in some capacity, yawn about club of the year, DVDs got fucked up, AHA candidates were collectively the worst radio on the BN. Boring as fuck.

Datamike's charge was that pro-brewing is the "focus of the entire show". I was pointing out some of the content that refutes that claim. Whether or not Adam from Upper Michigan likes that content is irrelevant.

Adam, why do you even listen? Per your own comments, you hated basically every broadcast in 2012, with the exception of the cask ale episode. You got very little out of any of the homebrew topics, you hate the pro-brewer interviews, and you can't stand Jamil's shows.

You've deleted Brew Strong out of your iTunes, perhaps it's time to delete The Session too - you'll have more time to find content for which you don't have such disdain.

Right on Moscow. I'll admit that I'm finding it hard to listen to the new Jamil Show, but I'm hoping it will get better as time goes on. When Jamil and John did the Pro-gasm series, I wasn't much of a fan. I don't want to brew professionally or open a brewery. So guess what? I didn't listen but I know there were a lot out there that found the information valuable.

I still find the other offerings and information on The Brewing Network to be a great resource so I will continue my rank as Sergeant!!

I'm looking forward to the show this Sunday so Justin, JP, Scott, the Doctor Scott, and others can put this crap to bed. I would suggest that the sarcasm about people complaining about a "free show" be kept to a minimum, since some of us ( and I hope a lot of us ) don't necessarily get it for free. ( and that is a choice )

And when I'm accepting Ninkasi this year and don't have the BN as my club, don't take it personally

Wow ... I just read from FLR's comments to here. That's an hour I'm not going to get back.

The Brewing Network is absolutely my go to source for random brewing information and entertainment. The sunday session covers a wide variety of topics with some that I am very interested in and others that I am more indifferent on. Often times, the topic/guest is something that I'm not overly excited about, but after listening to the show I realize how wrong my initial impressions can be. Some of my favorite shows were ones I didn't think I would get much out of. I listened to the Session in order from show #1 to present. I absolutely love the variety of topics, good quality and mostly accurate brewing information, and multi-layered format of the Session. Even though I was in a time warp, it was great to perceptually grow with the BN as they have evolved over the last 8 years. The inclusion of the listeners into the show is comendable ... Every question that I send to the chat moderator gets asked, often word for word, and they are not always "comfortable" questions to ask.

Yes I hate Monday Sessions, but don't hold them agains the BN crew. I just enjoy participating in the live show and can't do that on Mondays ... my problem, not the BN's. Yes there are times when a show comes accross as "rushed" ... leaving listeners to make all sorts of unfavorable interpretations of the reasons (disinterest, boredom, would rather head across the street and drink a beer, etc). It could just as easily be a very justifiable reason (having network issues that had to be fixed in order for a show to even happen leaving little to no time for show preparation, poor interviewees making for a difficult interview, guests backing out last minute and scrambling to have show, etc). On the same note, there are many shows where the BN crew is absolutely engaged, having a lot of fun, providing us with a ton of information and entertainment, and staying on air well longer than normal. I think a lot of bitching stems from the fact that we truely enjoy the BN shows and it is hard not to be a bit dissappointed when there is no live show.

Yes I provide monthly donations to the BN, use the Amazon link, shop at the BN store or booth at events, and patronize BN sponsors. Doc, Tasty, JP, Justin, Moscow, Nathan & Nicole, Beevo, and Susi I truely appreciate all that you have accomplished through the creation/growth of the Brewing Network. If you are ever in the Prescott area, first round is on me!!

The entertainment value is welcome and there just might be something I can pick out of a show that helps me as a homebrewer. In 2012 there hasn't been much of it, but I'm sticking it out.
