Since Dr. Scott has so much extra time on his hands...

I'm envisioning an Equipment Show. Every other week. Alternating weeks to Jamil. Big focus on Do It Yourself conversions. Lots of pictures posted concurrently online... that would be key. Reviews of new gadgets. Good excuse to get freebies for TBN. He's shown he can handle his own show... I think equipment is just the area that could use some attention... I'm sure someone has already mentioned this but I thought I'd throw out there that I think it would rock. Let's face it, one of the coolest parts of this hobby is making your own equipment, modifying it over time and really making it your own personal thing. What do y'all think, is it a big enough subject for an hour every two weeks?

I'm down! But I don't think Doc Scott could handle the workload. Hell, theres been plans for a kegerator on Doc Scotts Corner for like months! Slacker!

Let's see. Get paid nothing to talk tech stuff or make a gazillion bucks yanking teeth? BTW, it would also take away time from brewing and of course, family. Oh, but he does get to drink beer while doing it. That's tough choice for he Doc!

Thank's for the vote of confidence guys. But Danno is right, it would take away from brewing, family, etc. Yeah, I know, sleep's over rated. But the wife would kick my ass for even thinking about it. And, she'd probably kick all your asses for even suggesting it!

"Doc's Gadget corner" was only planned to be a Monthly installment. (Justin planned it that way, 'cuz he knows...) Doing the Jamil Show" even threw that back a little. I'll have another one up soon. As we get more sponsers for the show, it's also going to serve as a product review for those company's products.

As "jhicker" noted, Making, changing or inventing your own brew equipment is half the fun. I love to do that! I just got a new tig welder (yes, I know how to tig weld) so that part of my hobby is going to go up a notch or two.

In fact, I think I'm going to go out to the garage right now and start welding random shit together...
Cheers,

It's all good Doc. Wish there were more hours in the day! Maybe it's time to retire from your day job and go BN full time! :) Who likes Hummers anyway...?

Doc's gadget corner will be a good spot for alot of this. I think there's many extract brewers out there that would love some focus on converting sanke kegs to boil kettles and converting coolers to mash tuns, you know the basic all-grain stuff. I would even say this would make a good Sunday show. "Equipment Show - Transitioning to All-Grain".

Anyhow, keep up the good work guys!

I apologize if my post sounded bad. I was merely having (under the influence) fun with it. I've got nothing but respect for Doc Scott and all of the other brewcasters for taking much time from their lives to bring us TBN (except Justin, in which case TBN is his life. He's got a studio in his living room for the love of Pete!) And, despite the lack of a paycheck, they have my dream job. For that I am jealous.

I would love to see a show dedicated to brew equipment. Lack of money for equipment and/ or the resources to build it is, in my opinion, the most prevalent factor holding us back in the quest for greatest-ever brew.

Of course, the main purpose of the TIG will be for "constructing experimental dental equipment", won't it ?
