Worked in the field of Community Development (program planning, grant writing, administration) for 15+ years until I hit total burnout. After trying a few other fields I did an apprenticeship under a master chef in a hotel and have since spent some 13-14 years as a chef/cook in various establishments.

I'm the lead software engineer for an enterprise Tax and Accounting Application. Chef/Owner is the dream job, but software pays the bills.
