Dr. Scott I hope you did well on your sleep apnea test the other week, i just spent my first night hooked up to my machine like Darth vader in a plastic bubble, apparently i tore it off in the middle of the night and could not be woken up by my wife to put it back on.
Maybe tonite itll stay on and Ill get a good nights sleep.

My Father has one of those and it FREAKED me out the first time I saw him hooked up. It looks like ALIEN laying eggs...

No Results yet (takes 2-3 weeks) That was not an episode of my life I'd like to repeat. No beer for the sunday show sucked in of itself. But the next day I was a zombie. I felt like I hadn't slept at all! I'm looking forward to this machine (I think). I'd like to finally feel rested after a nights sleep.
Have you tried duct tape to keep your mask in place?

well, its been almost a week and i still take the mask off in the middle of the night (in sort of a sleep walking mode). It really hasnt helped me yet as it takes me longer to fall asleep, then having cool, dry air shot up your nose all night eventually becomes discomforting, maybe ill try to get a humidifier for it. but, ill keep trying , as i need that good night's sleep as well.

Well, after having used a CPAP for the past 6 years or so, I can attest to at least three things:
1.) Get a proper fit while lying erect/supine (i.e., while on your back) at the sleep center when the tech fits you. Also, insist on trying different masks, not all are equal nor do they fit all facial sizes and types!
2.) Make sure to have a humidifier installed (this is easily done like a piggyback module) and check it regularly for mold/mildew when you add the RO/distilled H2O.
3.) If either one of the above fails to work for you then call the sleep center immediately and make an appointment (they shouldn't charge you for this service, but your contractual obligations may vary, see your provider for details) to be refitted with either another mask (they make several, some just nasal, others full face) for size and/or shape.
The main thing to remember is that these exams (polysomnograms) are expensive, as are the CPAP devices, so don't let them try to talk you out of a reexamination of the device as it works with your particular needs. I for example had to try about a dozen different masks before I found one that worked for me, and also had to change pillows several times as well. I hope I helped you guys out with these experiences, but do NOT hesitate to call the techs at the sleep study dept where you got your DME until you are totally satisfied with the results. Good luck, God Bless, and ilbcnu!
Prost!
