I too caught the comment about Bob Wills. It also made my heart glad!
Almost every brew, I too have Asleep At The Wheel blaring away with their finest rendition of Bob Wills music. Between that and some great bluegrass I almost don't need any homebrew to reach Nirvana!

I have some Bob Willis on a LP country box set, great stuff although Hank SR is my favorite. I always listen to Bluegrass too when I brew.

I've got a greatest hits of Bob Wills, and several Asleep at the Wheel CDs loaded on my IPod. Ray Benson does him justice. I also have Hank Williams, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Bill Monroe, Marty Robbins, A coupleof the "Circle" CDs, and on and on.

Its really amazing when you listen to all the old county and realize that still today people are covering their songs. George Straight, Willie Nelson, The Free Willies, Hot Club of Cowtown have all recently covered bob wills songs not to mention countless others over the years and most people never know those songs are 75 or so years old..

Amen, brothers and sisters. 'Asleep at the Wheel's "Ride With Bob" is the shiznit. All the current boys and girls, singing those old songs...what a delight.

Talk about cousins kissing... I went to a family renunion back in '94 in Las Vegas. The day before I was giving all the sweet young gals in the casino the old "Odin Eye'.

The next day, they were all wearing the reunion t-shirts...Kind of awkward. None of them would go for it...probably lesbians.

Have you noticed that in spite of all the country music fans here, Justin refuses to play any country or bluegrass? The doctoberfest show was the one exception for obvious reason. I think Justin needs to loosen up a bit and play some classic country for us. It's not all shit kickin', cousin kissin' music. Some of the best musicians around are doing country. I bet Justin would really enjoy Jerry Douglas (dobro player for Alison Krauss and Union Station) on his cd "Best Kept Secret". Some of the finest guitar playing on the planet, even cuts on there with Bela Fleck and John Fogerty. If Justin will play a cut from this cd during a brewcast, I will log right on and buy another TBN shirt.
