Tonight I'm downing 22's of Stone IPA, Arrogant Bastard, and Stone Imperial Stout. Then I'll put down however many Orval's until I have to go to bed.

I just sobered up from lunch. Had some Belgian Tripels at Rock Bottom.

I have to say.... I think many (not all) people say they like Belgian beers because it's a fad. I personally don't care for Belgian beers at all. I try to find what people go crazy about but they're pretty boring to me.

That's bc ur racist against Belgianese people. I don't like clean beers. I like esthers and phenolics. I'm from the Dirty South and I represent it like that. Been in love with Belgians since my first Chimay. Haven't looked back since. Something about their yeasts just gets my junk hard.

I defer to Jamil on most things but when he says to ferment your Belgian in the mid sixties I disregard. I say pump that bitch well into the 70's on suck on that dirty juice that flows from the fermenter.

The Stone IPA wasn't as fresh as I like it to be. The Arrogant Bastard was more balanced than I thought it would be. The Orvals were perfectly crafted as I expected them to be. And the Imperial Stout isn't as dry as I like mine to be. Regardless, the Stout is more drinkable than most American companies who like to go "extreme" with the style. Nonetheless I still prefer the more drinkable style of Sam Smith and Sam Adams when it comes to Imperial Stouts. Call me ghey but that's what I like.

Damn. Imperial Stout put me over the edge. I'm having to type this slowly. Still think this stuff finished out too cloying. I like my Imperial Stouts dry. Need to replace some of that base malt with simply sugars.

Brew club meeting tonight. Enjoyed a solid IPA from the host brewpub, then a classic example of a CAP, then a solid American Wheat, then a fruit beer - blonde ale with strawberry and guava.
