Brewing to much beer???????

Sun Nov 25, 2012 5:49 pm

A friend of mine mentioned to me that he had read somewhere the at some point when you produce a certain amount of beer per year you are no longer considered a home brewer and it goes from a completely leagal hobbie to a feloney.
He couldn't remember the source of the info or the amount. Does anyone know of this? Any info would be great as I will brew 1 gallon less than this "limit" imposed by whatever government agency it is imposed by.... :D
Jan Wolfhouse: So yeah, I heard you got fired from the brewery?
Landfill: God damn brewery! You know that brewery makes 10,000 bottles of beer a day. I drink 45 of them, and I'm the asshole!

the law is 100 gallons per person and a 200 gallon per household per year. It would be kinda hard to prove since you consume the evidence. :)

That is the federal limit. Each state is free to impose their own lower limit. I think Georgia, for example, limits it to 50. Alabama limits it to zero :(

I really don't think the government would do anything to you if you were caught with 250 gallons of homebrew in your fridge. If they caught you selling it from your house then the feds would come down hard on you.
