Local Homebrew Shop

So I just moved to the Tampa Bay area and visited the closest homebrew supply shop near me and I saw a disturbing thing. I noticed there was a cat laying on the front counter who seemed to have free reign of the place. Should I be worried about buying ingredients from a place like this? They also seemed to be more of a wine store with homebrew supplies on the side.
Secondly, any of the Tampa Hombrewers have a good suggestion on where to go or any clubs to join?

If anything i would think a cat would be a good sign as it probably keeps away any potential rodent problems that could be feeding on grains. I know some breweries that have both cats and dogs in their establishment (or at least around it).

Do you hold something against cats?

I am more of a dog person. But I was just curious if it would affect sanitation. The rodent thing is a good point.

Anything in the shop is going to be sealed or will be boiled in the process.
